IP Papers 2008-2009 

In 2008-2009, the IP is hosted and organised by the Palacký University in Olomouc (Czech Republic) from 21 June till 2 July 2009. The main topic is:

"Unity and Variety in the Perception of European Cultures".

This topic is articulated in four sub-themes of study:

  1. Inner frontiers of Europe: geographical differences (East and West, North and South, regions of Europe)
  2. Minority cultures and their treatment by and of the majority (mainstream and underground, orthodoxy and heresy, conformism and dissent)
  3. Europe and the wider world (understanding and interpreting European cultures from the outside)
  4. Uses and abuses of cultures: past and present
