The participation of the MA programme Euroculture in the Erasmus Mundus programme is a recognition by the European Commission of Euroculture's outstanding quality as a top joint masters programme.
Since 2006 the Master programme Euroculture has been funded by the Erasmus Mundus Programme for five consecutive years. The consortium has re-applied for funding under the 2010 Call for Proposals. However, as a result of the highly competitive nature of the selection and the limited budget available, the course was not re-selected for funding as of 2011, but fulfills the criteria to continue using the Erasmus Mundus Brand name for the promotion and dissemination of activities and results.
Erasmus Mundus Brand Name
The Erasmus Mundus Brand Name (EMBN) is awarded by the European Commission and is exclusively restricted to selected proposals that maintain the high quality of their masters programmes.By using the EMBN the Euroculture consortium commits itself to maintain the requirements and level of excellence expected from an Erasmus Mundus Masters Course. For not receiving funding no Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be available for the 2011 intake of this master course.
The Erasmus Mundus programme is a new global scheme to enhance the quality and attractiveness of European higher education world-wide. As an Erasmus Mundus programme, the Master programme Euroculture offers a framework that promotes valuable exchange and dialogue between cultures and prepares its participants for a global, knowledge-based society.
